We worked hard on preserving this pub’s quirky personality while significantly increasing the bar’s sales and covers. Some tough design choices were made to balance the client’s needs whilst preserving as much of the character as possible within the brief. This family-friendly local has undergone a full internal and external renovation that includes a completely new signage scheme, new cladding and lighting with care taken to preserving some traditional elements within the interior. Externally the pub is unrecognisable with a new beer garden, children’s play area and smoking shelter. Since it’s refurbishment, The Pig on the Wall has shifted its trade to a wet:dry split of 60:40, with full new catering facilities and an expert team experienced in providing high-quality service.
With an already significant increase in trade, the Pig on the Wall has been given the quality renovation it deserves. The building, once Greenside Farm open in 1684, is probably the oldest building in Droylsden. MGI have respectfully restored the building to its former prestige and have delivered a site, integral to Droylden’s identity, back to the community.
