The Brook

This site, located in Ramsbottom, was renowned with the locals as the go-to live music and entertainment pub in the area, however a lack of investment spanning over a decade had resulted in the pub falling into disrepair and a noted reduction in customer footfall.

In order to reclaim its crown as the premier live music pub in Ramsbottom MGI were approached to create a cost-effective refurbishment scheme that worked with the original layout and existing features but lifted the pub to meet the expectations of today`s generation of music fans, whilst ensuring the site`s existing loyal customer base was not pushed away or marginalised.

To lift the site a vibrant colour palette of Blues and yellows was paired with the existing exposed brick work and decorative timber details throughout the trade space. The existing bar servery was modernised through removal of the imposing timber overbar and back fitting, and installation of a new steel and glass backfitting, decorative steel overbars and feature pendant lighting. The transformation was completed through decoration and installation of a new feature tiled wall to the rear of the back fitting.

Prior to the refurbishment, carpet was the predominant floor finish throughout the trade area. We opted to remove this and replace it with a hard wearing LVT floor more suitable for a live entertainment focussed venue ensuring ease of ongoing maintenance for the management team.

With one eye always on effective management of the budget, existing furniture was re-used wherever suitable and supplemented with reclaimed furniture, all refurbished to a high level by one of our suppliers and with a greater focus on vertical drinking.

Externally the pub was fully redecorated and re-branded with a new signage scheme including sign written logos and text to the front and side elevations in order to fully advertise the transformation within and encourage new custom through the doors.
