When our client took this site back from it`s previous operator it was suffering from years of neglect and lack of investment. The pub had developed a bad reputation and was avoided by much of the local community. Naturally, the client`s intention was to change the pub’s fortune through a full internal and external refurbishment, in order to maximise on the site’s location next to the River Weaver and close to its many beautiful nature walks. The brief to us was to prepare a scheme that retained the existing layout and existing features but lifted the feel of the pub to a mid-level family friendly drinking and dining location.
Use of reclaimed floorboards and materials feature heavily in the design, the majority of which were taken from the upper floors of the building and reutilised to panel walls, clad ceilings and over-clad the existing bar servery.
A warm pallet of heritage colours and fabrics was specified throughout the interior to respect the pub`s history and create a naturally comfortable and inviting space that encourages its customer`s to linger longer in a true home for home environment.
Since its refurbishment the site has seen a massive increase in customer footfall and sales, and continues to go from strength to strength, popular with locals and visitors alike.
