The owners of this historic site in Chester approached MGI to produce a design that would encourage customers to make use of under-utilised areas of the site. Careful consideration was given to the listed status of the property, and its many wonderful existing features, throughout the design process to ensure that our proposal was sympathetic to character of the pub, whilst redefining zones to enhance the customer journey throughout the site.
The use of dark heritage colours, comfortable furnishings and rugs has helped to soften the overall feel of the site and inject a “warmth” that was previously missing. Since its re-opening in January 2024 the site has already seen an increase in footfall and turnover when compared to its performance prior to the refurbishment.
