What works can be undertaken to commercial properties under permitted development?

Permitted works include ( but are not exclusive to) – – permitted development does not apply within any conservation area or to a listed building – The erection of any wall, fence or gate below 1m tall as long as the wall/fence/gate does not obscure view the adjacent highway ( for example if the wall/fence is not erected on land already higher than the highway) , – Certain changes of use to existing buildings can be actioned under permitted development within designated use classes, for example the change of use of a drinking establishment to a restaurant or retail unit to a drinking establishment ( and vice versa) – External decorations as long as the decoration is not for the purpose of advertisement, announcement or direction. – The installation, alteration or replacement, within an area lawfully used for off-street parking, of an electrical outlet mounted on a wall for recharging electric vehicles.
